How to Use Your

Pet Care
I have just added a new tip to the Pet Care page of the website.  It is a great idea that makes caring for your pet easier and safer, and was given me by a good friend.
A note of sympathy to all of you who are worried about your pets during this "Tainted Pet Food" problem.  It is a real concern, on how to get safe food for your pet.  Hope it all works out OK.  If anyone has any helpful suggestions, Please post them.

Extend bearing life
Today, a customer told me that he had a hand held High Speed Rotary Tool  that he had used extensively for many years.  As the bearings became worn the tool began to vibrate and was very difficult to use, however he found that, by placing a zap-strap tightly around the case, he was able to use the tool for several more hours of life.
A "zap-strap" is a small plastic (or nylon) tie that is commonly used by electronics people to quickly tie bundles of wires together.  So it would appear that this strap compressed the case around the bearings to hold them steady.
I can't say for sure that this remedy will help all old HSRT's but it costs very little to try, and you just may get a little more use out of your HSRT.

More info added
Just to let you know what has been happening the last few days:  Computer stuff!  My old computer was getting bogged down and just could not handle the extra work of the website.  The hard drive was almost full and it was becoming painfully obvious to me that it was time for a new computer.  Most people who use little High Speed Rotary Tools are good with other tools as well, and after using tools to fix things for many years, they become very self-reliant.  I am no exception and so given the choice between a small new ready-to-go computer and a large old needs-lots-of-fixing type, Guess which one I picked.  And that, my friends, is where all my time has gone these last few days.  Good news is that the new (old) computer is now tuned up and running better than it ever did. And, no I did not use my HSRT to cut any holes in it. (Yet!).
In spite of all this activity, I did find time to add a lesson on Polishing Jewelry to the How2UseHSRT.com website.
Take Care,
John

Photo of Rocking horse
Hi Mary,
That photo that you saw on the "About Us" page of how2usehsrt.com is actually part of a rockinghorse.  Here is a photo of another one showing the complete rockinghorse.  His name is Speedball!

Best Wishes,
John
